Now that our road opener versus Wisconsin is done, we will not leave the city of NY until New Year's eve when we go to Cincinnati to play Xavier in our Big East opener. Before we play the Xavier game, there are eleven local games (see below), most if not all, that we will be favored to win. Looking ahead, Bucknell should be a challenge and Ole Miss (if we play them) was a four seed in last year's tourney. Besides those games we have had lapses in past years and lost to teams we were supposed to beat. This part of the season, we will hopefully see the growth and development necessary to solidify team chemistry, establish roles for individuals and develop a night in and night out intensity that will lead our team to the type of year that they are capable of.

11/15/13 vs. Wagner
11/19/13 vs. Bucknell
11/22/13 vs. Monmouth
11/26/13 vs. Longwood
11/29/13 vs. Penn State
11/30/13 vs. Ole Miss Or Georgia Tech
12/07/13 vs. Fordham
12/15/13 vs. Syracuse
12/18/13 vs. San Francisco
12/21/13 vs. Youngstown State
12/28/13 vs. Columbia

With the exception of SYRACUSE and possibly Miss or G. Tech, Billy Rafftery would refer to these teams as CUPCAKES..

Which games will be televised?

I believe all the games, going forward, are on tv.

The eleven local games are over and 9-2 is not bad at all. We could have won them all but did not really play as well as we are capable of in at least half the games. Longwood, Penn State and the first halves of both the Georgia Tech and Syracuse games were examples of some of our lower moments. The Fordham game, our play against San Francisco and the first fifteen minutes of the second half of the Syracuse game represented some of the best of what we can be.

As for the previously stated hopes (see below) coming into the eleven previous games,

(This part of the season, we will hopefully see the growth and development necessary to solidify team chemistry, establish roles for individuals and develop a night in and night out intensity that will lead our team to the type of year that they are capable of.)

I would say that team chemistry and night in and night out intensity still need to be improved on quite a bit. That and the ability to function well in the half court offense are the biggest obstacles for us to overcome. If we can do this, then this group might be able to really maximize their full potential.and can reach the upper echelons of the NCAA this year.

I'm glad we we can now get into a groove with the schedule with games every 3 or so days instead of 1 week breaks.

What about the fans?. The Giants is dead. The Jets Is dead. The Knicks might as well be. The Rangers are ?

This is the beginning of a long grey barren winter - except - for the Johnnies! What an opportunity for St. John's to become New York's team once again.
