Looking Ahead To Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech is currently ranked #54 on Sagarin and #74 on KenPom, so they are a healthy Quad 2 opponent and knocking on the door of Quad 1. We could really use them being decent after missing Temple in the Legends Classic.

They play very late @ Northwestern on Wednesday (9:15 PM). That could be a big advantage for us. Most teams will fly in the day before an away game so they are either staying in hotels from Tuesday through our game Saturday or they are going to Atlanta for Thursday night and flying to Miami Friday. Both scenarios are horrible for college kids. Either four nights straight in two hotels or three flights and three nights in two hotels.

We absolutely need this win.

Looking at their roster they have three 6’9 guys but they go 210, 211 and 214. So, their size really shouldn’t be an issue even though we are lacking in height. Especially, if Roberts gets some time, he’s 6’9 220.. This is a positive for us as the guards and wing players will likely decide the game with no dominant big men. I would put our guards and wing players up against anyone.

A victory by any less than 30 points will be a disappointment.

They struggle on offence (309th) and aren’t great at rebounding (204th). We should win this one and hopefully more easily that the last two.

I suppose I could read the NET infographic Paultz put up but I'm not sure what thread it was on so I'll ask you this quick question. At the end of the season does it matter where the team was ranked when you played them or at the end of the season? I don't think it's likely GT will maintain a top 100 ranking unless they can get out of the bottom 3 or 4 of the ACC.
