Thought I read somewhere online that Lindy's had St. Louis in like the Top 10?

Actually you are correct, their national top 10 are:

Louisville
Indiana
Michigan
NC State
Kentucky
Ohio St
Duke
Creighton
St. Louis
UCLA

WHILE TOP AND BOTTOM TEAMS MAY BE ACCURATE....THE MIDDLE IS A BIG TOSSUP......IS RICK MAJERUS STILL COACHING ST LOUIS? CONSIDER NEXT YRS BIG EAST WITH NEW TEAMS...HOW CAN ANYONE MAKE MORE THAN A GUESS....

And nova has the audacity to apply to the ACC?

Behind Providence..Am I missing something. They stunk last year and don't look much better this year IMHO

No doubt they include Dunn and Ledo on the team. With that backcourt they would have been in pretty good shape. WIthout them they are worse than last year.

I see us ahead of PC and South Florida. Cinci might be a problem to overtake. Hopefully, an 8th place finish means an NCAA bid.

agree on PC and USF. I don't believe in etither one of them.
Last I heard Majerus of St. Louis is taking a leve of absence for the year.
Health reasons which have besieged him for years, are the reason.

Pitt 3rd??

I understand people are high on their big man Adams, but that seems high to me. I think ND Cincy and Georgetown are all better than Pitt this year.

I don't think Cincy is better than Pitt.

But would you put them 3rd in the Big East Moose?

Call me crazy, but I don't think 3rd in the Big East is that far-fetched for us. I don't think that's where we finish (I put us in the 6-9 range), but to me, the BE this year is Louisville and Syracuse, followed by everyone else. I think whoever finishes 3rd is going to be considered a "suprise" team. Would I consider us the 3rd best team at present? No. But, I think our talent is compatable with some of these other teams, so I give us just as a good a shot for 3rd place as anybody.

I posted a few months ago some tiers. First tier was Lville and Cuse. 2nd tier had Pitt and Gtown. 3rd tier had ND, Marquette, STJ and Cincy. So yeah they could be 3rd IMO

Honestly, it seems to be a fair ranking (minus Providence who has lost Ledo and Dunn). Outside of D'Angelo Harrison, there are nothing but questions for St. John's. Granted, that could make the team a major sleeper in the Big East. Let's suppose that Orlando Sanchez and JaKarr Sampson turn out to be immediate contributors from the beginning. And that Green, Garrett, and/or Pointer take the next step forward in their development. Then, there's a legitimate possibility that SJU could contribute for a top 5-7 spot in the conference.

But we have to remember that the projections can't factor in all those if's. In their viewpoint, only Harrison is a sure thing for St. John's in 2012-'13. All of the other players are major question marks. So how about they go out there and prove from the get-go that this team will be a force?

For me the team that will surprise is........
St. John's
St. John's
St. John's
St. John's

I think St. John's will do a lot better than what that magazine thinks. I would not be surprised to see them finish as high as 5th.

I could not disagree more.
Harrison is a star with an unbelievable work ethic.
Green, Pointer, Garret and Gift were all solid contributors in their first season in the toughest bball conference on an undermanned team. Each one of the four turned in a player of the game performance at least once during the season. Each one of the four has a strong work ethic, why would they not improve? Absolutely no reason they should not.
We are guaranteed one star and 4 solid returnees who if each was guaranteed 30 minutes a game would average double digit scoring.
The question marks are :
1. JK will he come close to replacing Mo, a very good chance?
2. OS will he contribute at a high level right away making the jump from JC, I believe so?
3. CO will he be the shot blocker we have dreamed of, one can dream?
4. JB will he be the great defensive pg we have dreamed of having, there is that chance?
5. MB will he be the 3 point shooting specialist we require to keep defences honest, something we need to go to the top level?

In my mind these are the question marks but in last years players we know what we are getting at a bare minimum.
