Let’s have a little empathy for Champ.

It’s great to see Wheeler coming on strong and making his presence felt which has been a bright spot to a less then dismal season to date but just stop and think for a minute,  what Champ is going through. Here’s a really great kid who aside of feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders believing that the team’s underachieving is on him also has to deal with a future which was once perceived to be as an NBA career is now questionable.

Many on here forget that these kids are not just players but young people with feelings and ambitions and are doing the best they can. I myself am guilty of being critical of his slump and even more so if the coaching staff, but if there’s a kid around that is certainly unworthy of such criticism and could certainly use some support at this time it’s Champ. Consider this when his shooting is off and you’re pissed off that the team is doing poorly…. BEFORE YOU POST.

I agree 100%

Amazed at posters on all forums criticizing players who are struggling but giving best at the time. Do you raise your kids this way. We are human and have off days, can you deal with that?

Champy is a talented player, with a pro career in his future.  I suspect, that currently, he is not fully healthy, given the time of the season and the bruising he’s been getting in BE play.  I wish he got the Gillespie treatment from the refs, but he won’t.  He does many things very well on the court.  I hope he heals quickly and can close the season on a note reflecting his skills and abilities.

Champ is a winner on and off of the basketball court.

His parents should be proud of the young man they have raised.

No one on here needs to be on him. I'm sure he is hard enough on himself. Hard to say why his numbers are down, but if Champ was hurting, wrist or otherwise, he doesn't seem like a man that would complain.  He gets bumped on many of his drives, and rarely gets the call. Yet you never see him complaining. He will have time to adjust in the NBA, where he can watch all time greats bitching and moaning to the refs if someone comes within 20 feet of them.

as a fan -  would love for him to return and finish his career on a high note with SJU making a run in the Tourney.... I actually believe a team with Posh / Champ / Wheeler at its core - has the makings of Solid squad....."Then why aren't we seeing that now Brian3, huh?".... i dunno... covid / injuries / takes time for guys to click.... some excuse.... but you can't say the talent isn't there....

But for those who think Julian won't be on a Summer league roster are crazy.... Worst case scenario- raptors are going to give him a look, and he'll go kill it in Europe.

I mentioned Champs wrist earlier in the year. I think a lot of people thought it was him just getting more attention defensively. That is certainly part of it, but his FT percentage has been down for most of the year. Also, last year when he missed a 3 pointer it was always close. This year there have been some open looks that were frankly not close. I have no inside information, and it could be confidence rather than the wrist, but something has definitely been slightly off with his shooting this year compared to last.

If you've been even remotely critical of Julian, close your eyes and imagine the last 2.5 years without him.   That's a real nightmare.

I can Olay speak for .myself,.I haven’t read anything on the site that was personally attacking Champ, but when is is touted  as one of  the best players in the BE and doesn’t perform in
many games he is opens himself to negative opinions about his game I hope he does well the rest of the season
