Legacy and records

When we got the name “Big East” did we also get the legacy, logo, website, and the rights to the historical files and documents?

For example, will Chris Mullin’s records in the “old Big East” conference carry over to our new Big East, or will it stay with the “old” soon-to-be-named conference?

Just wondering, for example, can the Garden say it will be the host of the Big East Conference Championship for the 32 nd year?

That kind of thing.

Will the old league keep its headquarters in Providence?

I guess our headquarters will be NYC, making SJU’s resurgence even more important to the conference. Imagine with all of the media here if we rose to the top of the BE, what that would do for everyone associated with the new BE!

I think I read somewhere that we are keeping all of the records/legacy related things associated with the Big East. I'm not 100% sure though since there have been so many articles the past few months. As far as the tournament, everything I've read is that the Garden will "continue" to serve as the home of the Big East Tournament, so I'd say yes.

I say keep the records in tack the conference has changed so much over the last 34 years, we had va tech in for a few years then left, Miami for a 15 year stretch etc.
