Jesus this kid is showing he can play and not rattled by the pressure of big games. Yes it was a cameo, but he coolly drained a HUGE first half three from the top of the key, played tough D, and moved the ball. UCONN fans had to think, "Who the f is this guy" as he stuck a dagger.
His ceiling may be a lot higher, and these minutes may play big dividends come tourney time.
With KR banged up expect to see more minutes vs Butler and SHU.
Good for him. Lots of kids wilt in big moments. He doesn't.

I loved seeing him get more than his 45 seconds at the end of the half. He had one bad drive where he got stuffed, but thats going to happen w/ his lack of experience.
He buried a nice 3. Played pretty solid D.
I liked what I saw. Hopefully, Rick will give him more times these last few games.
He's in the unenviable position where the other team marks him and expects him to shoot and everyone on our team demands that he shoot anything that is even an okay look.
He's looked very good so far to me. I've been a little surprised that he hasn't been used more, but there is no choice with Glover out. At the very least he is a spacing monster. Keep him play-side with Kadary and make them choose. You can't leave Kadary one-on-one in the paint.

Pitinos style of coaching is obviously a player has to produce in practice to get playing time. Which left Lefty defending slow European guards last year to defending an incredibly strong Richmond or a blur like Smith in practice this year. Defending in most games will be easier than practice but has probably made it harder for Lefty to earn minutes.
On three yesterday Kadary patiently passed to Lefty, a guy he must have faith in.
We can get that third shot multiple times a game. It's not the easiest shot, but some guys have built up the muscle memory that it can be hit at a decent clip. We also had the rebound there with great hustle by Zuby after the pick and RJ mismatch city with Ball on him.
Just look at the pressure Lefty puts on the defense....Reed has to be out of the paint to be ready to hedge and challenge and that leaves him in no-man's land. Could have dumped that down to RJ for a basket and foul too.
