Last Call & St. John's by the Numbers (So Far)

This thread has 2 titles but they are related. First up is “Last Call”. As some of you may have noticed, last week a thread went up, which is now pinned at the top of "Redmen Talk", called SJU Athletics Research Survey. There are two surveys in the thread, one which I posted. That survey was to get a pulse as to what people would like to see the University focus on as far as our athletics program go, as well as to get a sense as to how many people on here are willing to support St. John’s beyond being a fan or attending games. As I mentioned in the other thread, the University wants to hear from fans/alums, about how to better engage our fan base.

The Good News - People did take the time to fill out the survey which I appreciate, especially the questions where you get to provide feedback. It also seems that based on the answers that people are taking the survey seriously.

The Bad News - Less than 2% (yes I said 2%) of the total number of members/profiles on this site have filled out the survey. Considering there are folks who are just readers of Redmen, and not actual members, that probably answered the survey (I know a few who fall in that category), the percentage might be even less. I know that there are tons of members on here who probably haven’t been on this site in years, but I can't believe that this forum is dedicated to just handful of people. Like I said in the original thread, the survey takes between 60 to 90 seconds to complete. The survey will close this Thursday, if you haven’t taken the time to fill it, please take a moment to do so. I can even attach the link in this thread (how’s that for saving time) if people don’t want to go back to another thread. ; )

The Numbers - Yes, it’s a small sampling, but I thought I’d share some numbers that some of you might have an interest in.

Who We Are - not surprisingly, most members on here are alums, but what I found surprising are the years that they are alums from. So far most range from either the 70s or from 2010 and after. I would have expected the 80s the lead that category, but those numbers might still change. Non alums conversely have been fans from mostly the 80s & 90s, go figure. Only 3.8% of those who answered are students. I didn’t expect to have a ton of students on this site, but I did think we’d have more (or at least more who would have answered) than 3.8%.

Attending Games - Only 34% of those who answered are season ticket holders, and of the non-season ticket holders, 68% attend individual games, but they only attend between 1 to 5 games a year. Obviously winning consistently will change these numbers in the future.

Supporting St. John’s - 90% of those who answered are aware of the Red White Club & it’s benefits, but only 15% are members, and only 11% are considering becoming members, or making donations/contributions St. John’s in the future.

Feedback - This was also not a surprise, over 90% of those who responded mentioned a certain on-campus arena which they have issues with.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this and answer the survey, for those who did. If people are interested, I can updated the results after Thursday, as well as address some of the projects that are being considered, and yes, some of them might involve changes/modifications to Carnesecca Arena.

Come on you guys, lets help out a Redmen.com brother who is taking his own personal time to work on this. And at the same time help out the school we all love. The survey takes no more than 5 minutes. Let's do it!!!!

Am I too late? Where is the survey? I'd be glad to participate.

To be fair, I would think this Is a quite time of the yearbon this site.

I closed it last Thursday because I needed the information by the last Friday. Even though very few people answered it, I was still able to get some useful information.

I hope it goes well. I answered both. I was hoping I would get one of those prizes. I don't think SJU likes giving me things.

That's what I did wrong, I didn't give out any prizes, that would have probably gotten more people to answer it LOL.

Are you saying no swag for me? No dusty bobblehead or frayed SJU flag from the bowels of Carnesseca Arena? :( :( :(
