What's really a shame is that Bobby Knight lists Joe Lapchick as one of three coach uies he modeled himself after and admires. He would never win this award, but there are probably more reasons to give it to him than not. Unfortunately, the reasons not will deny him.
However, based on Knight's own words I would think Mr. Lapchick would be very pleased with Knight as a choice.
