Ladies Lose a Heart Breaker to UNC

The ladies played their hearts out but dropped a heart breaking game by 2 points to North Carolina today. Down by 3 with approximately 2 seconds left, Danielle Patterson (who had a tremendous 2nd half) missed a 3 point shot but was fouled. Had she made all 3 free throws, the game would likely have gone to overtime. Unfortunately, she missed the first two and made only the last one.

While the loss was disappointing, it was a great comeback season for Joey T and the ladies. They ended the season with 23 wins and won their first NCAA game in many years. Hopefully, this sets the tone for a strong recruiting class and continued success for next year and beyond.

Thanks to the ladies and the coaching staff for a fine season!! You did us proud!!!

Heck of a season. Jayla was never the same after that spill she took. UNC was very fortunate to win that game. We got the initial stops, but could not secure defensive rebound on several occasions. Tough because 3 seed Ohio State looked very beatable coming back from 17 point deficit against James Madison. They would have been our next opponent.
