His son? It's possible, because the Kyle Cuff we had is my age.

Nah, just know a guy affiliated with his Ct. team and follow AAU & HS teams in my area.

Good player with a chance to be very good. Our former players have some unusually talented kids and relatives. Maybe if we stop firing coaches one day we get one of them.

So Maverick Rowan and RJ Barret wanted to play for Lavin ? or Roberts? or Jarvis ? or Frashilla ? or Mahoney ?

The problem isn't the firing. The problem, from Mahoney to present, is how the school goes about hiring it's coaches. Hopefully, with the new AD, we'll start doing things differently.

As long as Cragg is here and has real decision-making power, I'm very confident that the next hire will be a good one.

I'm too lazy to look it up but has any D1 program ever had an entire coaching staff that had zero coaching experience. Especially for $2 million for a head coach and $600K for an invisible associate head coach?
We all knew as a result that the learning curve would be long and skewed. Just not this long.
As mediocre as the coaching is what is disturbing is the less than impressive recruiting classes.

To be fair our non-existent lead assistant had a terrible head coaching record. Also Matt and Greg seem to be hard working.

Compare our lot to Syracuse over that same span. JB gets a ton of his old players kids and relatives.

PA to SJU would be a layup if his brother’s coach was here. Whether that was Lavin or Mullin or someone else. It’s less about any one coach in particular and more about just someone staying and some continuity.

How many brothers does Wojo get?!

We’ve got an elite 8 worth of potential talent from former players kids that are in college or could have been in college now.

I agree, he had a great track record of hiring head basketball coaches at Duke :)

Did I miss something? When did we start looking for a new coach?

well see we lost to Providence so now we are firing Mullin. However if we win Saturday Mullin will be staying. It all depends on what happened the game before on redmen.com

Did Cragg have responsibility for hiring assistants at Duke?

I doubt it, K's staff is filled with his former players

He's a 55-year-old millionaire whose family lives 2,800 miles away. You think he'll be here longer than Cragg?

Personally I just hope that if/when Mullin is no longer the coach that Cragg either a- hires someone who becomes so successful that much like Coach K he can ignore the AD and do his own thing leaving Cragg to worry about other sports, or in the absence of that b- hires someone good enough to stop the firing trend by being successful enough to be hired to a "bigger" job.
