Initially there was a lot of concern about the number of high schools he attended eligibility concerns & how long he would last in college.

Apparently, despite the subsequent NCAA ineligibility determination, he not only took his medicine, but stayed with the program. According to what I hear he buckled down academically & continued to work hard to refine his basketball skills. I met him at the Fordham game and he seemed like an affable, bright kid. All in all, kudos to him for hanging in there & working hard on several planes to prepare for life ahead with or without hoops.

And on a purely basketball level, having a point guard that has some flavor does a world of good for the fans. After watching Brandon Jennings play 3 exhibition games he has become my favorite point guard since Mark Jackson's first couple years. Hopefully no matter the won loss record Lovett can have the same effect on ST John's.
