Kudos to Dance Team & SJU Crowd

For those who were not in attendance, I thought the crowd last night (just under 10K) was very supportive considering that the students are still on break. There was much more red than I expected, including a few former SJU players (Wennington, Mason Jr., Calzonetti, Phil Miserie, Sean Muto). As a side note, Mason Jr. really goes all out when cheering, he almost tackled me when the game was tied late in the 2nd half LOL. Being Ewing's first game I'm sure had something to do it with, but you can tell (especially in the 2nd half) that the crowd was looking to explode. Just unfortunate that we couldn't pull it out. Something tells me that we will probably be outdrawn by Villanova fans though.

I also wanted to give the Dance Team a shout out, the crowd was very pumped after their number in the 2nd half (partial standing ovation in some sections). I believe they are headed to the Nationals sometime this week, maybe they can win another National Championship so we can have some type of hardware to display, since we may not be doing this in basketball any time soon unfortunately.

Dance team is the only reason to go to games at this point. The male dancer is absolutely electric. Well deserved ovation last night.

Male dancer was entertaining. Can't believe I just typed that sentence.:D

good to see ive converted some of you ;) ;)

NYCRedman, absolutely agree on the dance team but disagree a bit on the crowd. no noise until the latter parts of the second half. would've loved to have seen the turnout for Ewing vs Mullin if both teams were decent/good

TRabinowitz, I get what you're saying & I don't actually disagree. I guess to me it seemed as if they were waiting for something to happen, but maybe b/c of the sloppy back & forth play, coupled with the recent last two home outings, they were reserved at the start. I was happy to see that there were much more SJU fans than G'Town, which hasn't always been the case in years past. This is rough stretch that we are going through (talk about understatement), so I am happy just having fans show up to support the team at this point. Never in my wildest nightmares did I see an 0-5 start. This is why beating Villanova will be worth it (yes I said it LOL, so kill me). :D
