How does Kentucky continue to sign all these highly rated recruits? Nobody can convince me that they are playing by the rules! This program reeks of corruption!

They are arguably the best program in the history of college basketball, and Cal puts kids in the NBA at a clip no two coaches combined could equal. Oh, and they win with young talent nearly every year. Baylor getting studs is a question...UK with Cal as coach is completely expected.

They also lead the country in attendance and have celebrities like Ashley Judd and George Clooney sitting courtside.

And of course Kentucky's never gotten in trouble before so why would anyone think something untoward might also be happening there.

Cal's been dirty everywhere he's gone and he's now matched up with one of the dirtiest group of boosters ever (still waiting for MY Fedex full of cash in case someone's wondering). That said they don't have to be as overtly dirty as many, like Baylor for example, because of all the things Marillac has mentioned. If you're that far ahead to start you certainly have to cheat less, but still you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Recruits really want to see George Clooney :)

Although it remains to be seen. Heard on the radio that this recruiting class is considered the best ever, surpassing the Fab Five.

They have an unreal amount of talent returning and incoming.

Goodwin, Poythress, and Cauley Stein all said they're returning.
If they do they'll be joined by the best recruiting class ever. Plus the possibility of Wiggins. (Although I can't see how that happens)

I would go so far as to say they could be the preseason #1 after missing the tournament this year.

Losing in the first round of the NIT really affected their recruiting! LOL!
Can Cal keep the players with big egos happy playing just 20 minutes?
It remains to be seen.

Remains to be seen what their results will be of course. Maybe if they remember how many time outs they have they can best the Fab Five on the court.

But when you recruit the #1 recruit at 4 different positions (PG, SG, PF and C) and get 3 of the top 5, 4 of the top 10 and 6 of the top 21 recruits in the country (according to Scout) then there's no question on paper it is the best recruiting class of all time.

No other college program comes close to there recruiting achievements. How to you explain that? It's almost comical.

The guy has coached three of the last five No. 1 overall picks to say nothing of the fact that nine of his guys have gone in the top 20 the last three drafts

Coming into this season his last seven seasons ended like this -- national title, final four, elite eight, sweet 16, runner-up, elite eight, elite eight -- with win totals 33, 33, 38, 33, 35, 29, 38.

Why wouldn't you want to play for him if you are the best high school kids in the country.

That's like saying that Harkless got into the pros cause he was coached by Lavin. No, Harkless got in the pros cause he was Harkless. Rose got in the pros cause he was Rose, etc. etc. etc. Calipari had the # 1 or 2 recruited class this year on the team and what did he do with them? Cal does not develop kids into pro players, they are pro payers when they get there.

I agree with Jim. Most of these kids are one and done no matter where they go. They are going to UK for the hype and for whatever perks come with being a Wildcat---many of which they are introduced to on their visits.

My point is, the guy at the top gets the credit. Top kids want to play for him, Top kids do well, both individually and as a team, with him as coach. So why wouldn't the next wave of top kids want to do the same?

I don't buy it Della!!

Questions are always asked about how a team gets great recruits. There were people wondering howmLacin was doing it with when he got his first real class.

Whether they were pro-ready or not when they got there, they were NBA picks under Cal's watch and that is what the kids see. How many of his players who all peo scouts say is one and done when they get there who don't live up to the hype when they play for him. He has a reputation of doing well with one and done players. They do well there, win, get much media attention and go pro.

Yes they have had scandals in the past and there could be other things also going on. But, kids are attracted to coaches who get there players to the league and Cal does that.

firing Fran and not hiring Cal was the death of our program

Our program is hardly dead. Don't think for a moment that the school was willing to pay Calipari's asking price or that he was sincerely interested in coming here.

Calipari is a Pitino disciple, and Pitino advised him back in the Camby days that he was already at a better program at UMASS so why would he want St. Johns.
