Keegan Bradley @ Ryder Cup

Not much press from NY area media or SJU regarding Keegan Bradley, 2 time Ryder Cup player and one of the dynamic players on the squad. There will be 250 million people watching The Ryder Cup on Friday, and more than likely Keegan will hit the first shot of this year's Ryder Cup.

Keegan is proud of his St. John's heritage. Too bad St. John's could care less. Walk into Carnesecca Arena. There is not one item of his or a case to display his Ryder Cup bags, PGA Championship trophy, pictures, etc.

Great point.
a little "public love" would be good relations with this potential fund raiser/donor. It would
be a plus for golfers in the student body. And there might be some general PR value in showcasing him at other SJU events.
The same dynamic is true regarding the way we tended to neglect our other athlete-graduates over the years. Except for Louie, who knew the status of almost all his basketball players even decades after they left school, until recently we hardly paid them much recognition, let alone attention. Broadening our scope to soccer, golf, baseball...even our now aging track stars, etc.. with a focused, ongoing program of cultivation would be beneficial to the broad SJU family in the long run.

Keegan gets a lot of love from the fans, but it would be nice to see the school do something. He is a terrific representative for St. John's.

Love this guy!!

@patrickkleary: Our best (Keegan/Phil) beating their best (Rory/Serg) bodes well for the rest of the weekend. #RyderCup

what did you guys think of sitting spieth and reed in the afternoon ?

Dumb.

Easy to say it now. Who would you have sat? You know Furyk and Kutcher were gonna play. So Fowler or Palmer? Phil or Keegs?

I wouldn't have played Phil 36 holes, discussed that with a guy in the office on Thursday, if that means sitting Keegan too then I would have done that. Combine his game this year with his age and the weather. Of course I was public in saying Webb Simpson was a bad pick. Didn't miss on that one.

They should have everyone playing all the matches instead of sitting guys. Maybe you could sit a team for Alternate shot matches. Look how good all the foursome matches were this morning.
Keegan and Phil are not a great pairing in Alternate Shot format. Solid ballstrikers in this afternoon matches.

USA will be great in singles matches.

an outing instead

Totally agree re Phil. Two rounds in crappy weather was stupid and our performance the next day was dismal. Euro had us outgunned overall though and without Tiger and D Johnson we had no real chance anyway. US golfers are, aside from Reed, too soft. Keegan has won over 14 mil in four years and you can double that with endorsements. He seems lost without Phil and I think he's seen his last captain's pick after this year. It's time for him to earn his way in by playing more early. He sways too much and sprays his drives and has no putting stroke. He's got work to do but he's filthy rich as it is. Faldo dumps on his pre-shot routine and said he looks like a guy out on
an outing instead of a tournament. He's a great talent but he doesn't deliver under pressure lately.

Positive comments from who are you ?? He works as hard as anyone and he is not soft. Keegan and Phil played well to beat McIlroy in the Sat. am matches and didn't play great in afternoon match. So you sit him all day Saturday ? I question Tom Watson's decisions at times.
Everyone just needs to play better than you don't have all the complaints that we are having.

I kind of agree that relative to other American golfers Keegan doesn't appear soft. Of course American golfers are always accused of being soft, at least since the boom in prize money. Risk/Reward play doesn't pay the bills, top tens do. But Keegan is a risk/reward type player. Very different. He just has a funky swing and funky routine that could be prone to breakdowns due to a multitude of factors and some of those factors, specifically not driving it well on a course where you have to drive it well, came into play, and not just for him.

The Euros had the US outclassed all through and Watson didn't pull any of the right triggers to make up for it.

I agree. Our best beat their best and that could have carried into Sunday's play. 36 holes in bad weather is a lot to ask. I think Keegan and Phil operate best when they have thei mojo and that was taken in the loss after being at an all-time high after knocking off McIlroy and Garcia earlier.

It's all a little bit fuzzy...
