JSJ, very nice post. This was a great interview, and Jabbar communicates honestly and intelligently. While great athletes are often gratuitously referred to as intelligent, Jabbar comes across as introspective and cerebral. He really does a nice job explaining that the negative perception of him was related to his inexperience in communicating well. He had garnered such unnatural media attention that is was smart for Wooden to protect him, but it left him unprepared to stand on his own dealing with the media as a pro.

Thoroughly enjoyed this interview and think differently of Jabbar as a result.
