I’m getting in a plane in Albuquerque to connect to Dallas and all the sudden I see guy head to toe SjU gear. He’s class of 08 and reads the board doesn’t post. Then we are getting off the the Pilot sees me and starts yelling Go Johnnies !!! Another St Johns grad who grew up right near campus. I swear I think almost every time I travel there are St Johns fans. Oh and a store I went into in Santa Fe was saying Go Johnnie. St Johns is his 2nd favorite team unfortunately after Duke

Btw I always think when someone says they read but don’t post that they are full of shit.

I also think fans who are diehards and say they don’t know the site are fuller of shit

Well I have a friend that doesn't know the site and has gone to hundreds of games with me. Ah, forget it because come to think of it he is full of shit anyway.

I absolutely dont believe anyone who says they dont know redmen.con because even other hoop team fans know about this site

That's great.

A few weeks ago, I was at mass and had on a red UA polo shirt w/ small STJ logo on one side of chest.

As I go up to receive communion, my hands out etc. lay minister, is an older man maybe 70+. He's just about ready to hand out, looks me in eye but notices the logo, smiles, says " Oh. St. John's. Chris Mullin !! Go Johnnie's!!"...then proceeds with "body of Christ etc." My teen daughter was right behind me and heard it and laughed.

Next week he sees me again, as I walk in front door and says he's originally from Queens and used to go to Alumni Hall a lot.

Bama, I just realized you have a serious conflict today. LSU/Bama at 3:30 and SJU/CCSU at 4. Decisions, decisions. What do you do?

No decision at all. Watch the game of the century and DVR our early season game vs a cupcake for later viewing. Had to turn down a friend's invite to attend the game in a court side seat as he is one of the former players being recognized today. Hope this revelation doesn't not lower whatever standing I may have amongst my fellow St. John's brethren. :)

Not at all, these are just the tough decisions sports fans face every week. :cheer:

It “doesn’t not” change anything with the rest of us.

Enjoy the game (the only thing stopping me from watching is my first passion/SJU-B Ball)--I have always loved Tide football; even applied to attend the school when I was a "yewt". I recently read a book which fantastically explains the passion of Alabama fans and suggest it if you haven't--"Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer" by Warren St. John (interesting name connection).

lol #1 vs. #2 going against SJU vs cup cake.
Easy choice.

I had my iPad and laptop going next to my TV. Too many good games to miss. Bamafan, sorry about your team, but that was a great game. More to come, I’m sure.

And to stay on topic, if we keep playing with this type of intensity, we’ll have plenty more Johnny fans everywhere. Coach was right....this is a fun brand of basketball.

Better to temper lofty expectations. Long way to go for this team. But certainly a nice start.
We might surprise and finish in the top 5 of the B.E.
Just continue to practice and get better.
As Louie would say--"Don't put the horns on us".
AS CMA stresses the only game that matters is the next one.
