Johnnies Meet & Greet Event

Alumni, fans and friends of the St. John’s men’s basketball program are invited to NYY Steak in Manhattan on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. for a special meet and greet with head coach Chris Mullin and the men’s basketball coaching staff. CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein will host the event and also moderate a question and answer session with Mullin.

NYY Steak, the steakhouse of the New York Yankees, is located in Midtown at 7 West 51st Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. The meet & greet is free, open to the public and no RSVP is required to attend. NYY Steak will serve complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres.

One thing about a q&A with Mullin is that you get honest answers,

Example: The other night he was asked in an interview white kind of style the Johnnies could be expected to play this year. Mullin answered that he has an idea of the type of style he'd like to play but this year it will depend on what they assess these guys can do and then play a style that best fits the talents of the rotation players.

It was a telling answer in that Mullin gave an indication of this year's roster not exactly fitting the blueprint of the types of guys he will recruit going forward.

These types of answers are so much more refreshing than the babble that came out of the last two coachs mouths that made it a waste of time to listen to them.

"... white kind style the Johnnies could ... play this year."

Freudian slip? ;)

Lots of made threes, free throws, and flopping to draw fouls.
