Johnnies Fan Favorite Ron Mvouika

Nice interview.

In an awful year, Mvoukia came in and gave his all. A good fit for both.

Did not know the full story, but seems like after his injury he had no where to play. St. John's gave him the opportunity and even though it was for one season he is a Johnnie for life.

Great interview. This especially was interesting:

How did Coach Mullin run the offense while you were there to accommodate all the newcomers?

Coach Mullin offense is really easy to adapt to simply because he gives players freedom. He’s not like these coaches that will ask you to make 15 passes before taking a shot. The style of play is very free and open, as long as you respect spacing, you run the floor and you defend hard. He comes from the NBA and brought his NBA experience into the game and made a couple of arrangements into the college style of play and it worked out very well. Every players dream is to play for a coach that will let you be yourself at all costs so it was really easy for pretty much everybody to adapt. Coach Mullin will sub you out the game if you don’t shoot the ball, that says a lot about how he views his players and how much he trust them.

Should be forwarded to every top recruit who wants to play NBA ball. It should be every recruits dream. It’s why our recruiting I think will get better and better with a good year this year.

I follow Ron on social media. While I don't spend very much time doing so, he like other recent alums, root very hard for out team and follow them game by game.

Ron has a strong faith which in today's environment takes courage to Express the way he does.

Great comment about Mullin yanking guys for not shooting. Mullin the player would hit any open man on the floor , often giving him a great look. As a fan I'd want mullin shooting from 20 before anyone else shooting from 10. Why did Mullin do it? Because it's the right way to play the game.

I've heard announcers say the same things about Chris being a player's coach with a pro offense players love. Word is getting out. Can top shelf recruits be far off?

He has such a positive outlook on things despite hitting some adversity. Good for him. I hope he does well in his life.
