I would kind of like Ok.St. again, hopefully we could pay them back for the loss yesterday.
 
We should have won the OSU game. It's crazy how much harder it is for a team to win the region after losing the first game. We have to win three (more) straight elimination games. OSU, who beat us only by a run, only has to win one.

One game at a time. If there is any good news, we'll be throwing the Big East player of the year if we can win the next two.
 
Arkansas is up 7-4 in the 8th, so it looks like we will get OK St. tomorrow. This is good, IMO, as we have a better shot of beating OK St. once, and Arkansas twice, then we would the other way around.
 
Unfortunately we don't have the pitching depth to win the 3 straight games we need to in order to advance to the Super Regional.

Few teams go past two quality starters at the college level. We are certainly no exception. The key is to win tomorrow. Then we could throw out top two starters, who both had very light pitch counts the last two days.
 
A couple of their players grew up in my town and are only a few years younger then me. They are good kids and its awesome to see the success they are having at SJU. Blankmeyer has really turned them into a consistent winning program in a place where its not so easy to do so.
 
SJU scored 2 in the bottom of the 8th. Lead 2-1 going into the 9th. Game is on ESPNU if you want to tune in.

@CB360updates: It's tall order, but if St. John's can beat Arkansas twice ... and if Missouri St wins its regional ..could have a Super Reg. at 4–seed SJU?
 
I take it back -- it looks like SJU would host against Missouri State. The place they are playing this week is the home of the local Double-A team, which is back from a road trip next week.

Neither team put in to host a super regional and iff Mizzou State can't host, SJU would by default.

Unfortunately home crowd would be sparse especially compared to other sites. Would be nice though.

Would be nicer to make the CWS.

Thanks for posting this. I was at that game and it ranks up there with all of the great SJU moments I was lucky enough to attend including Ron Rowan against Syracuse and Bootsy at Duke. My daughter, who was seven at the time, still talks about how I "acted like a Gorilla" when we won.

Those are precious memories.

Sorry they guys couldn't pull it out against Arkansas, but they did fight back from 3 runs down to tie. While I know they are disappointed, they had a very good season winning the Big East Season and Tournament Championships and making it to a Regional Final.
