I am still in shock.
Complete shock.
And maybe only longtime Mets fans will know this feeling.
Seaver, Koosman, Ryan, Gooden, Darling, Cone, Leiter.... a lifetime of waiting for this moment.

So what did Met fans do during the game not to jinx Santana . I started watching it by myself and wouldn't leave that room to watch it somewhere else . my son only talked about something signifigant happening in the Met game and he then returned to the tv downstairs rather than change rooms. After the win I went out on the front porch and screamed " Its over " !!!!!!
Thought i would be much more excited (could be because I did not see the game) but it just seems that nowadays there are many more no-hitters and even perfect games (3rd no no in just the first 2 months of this season) thereby diminishing the excitement but I am in no way minimizing the accomplishment and am happy to have that monkey/stigma removed from the Mets back.
Interestingly during his postgame interview, Collins held back some tears while talking about his concern how all Santana's pitches will affect him later in the season. He had to let him finish but knows it could be a dangerous decision for his star pitcher.
