JoeyD

What a nice surprise! He doesn't have to score a point to be a valuable addition to this team. He plays 'D' seriously. He talks, points, moves his feet, works hard. He can run. He's a player and could be an important part going forward.

Pleasantly surprised by Joey's play
Didn't expect him to be this good, given his record at FIU
Can be serviceable for a few minutes a game
Will probably become a fan favorite

Had we had Joey D against Gonzaga, we might have had a body to put on Sabonis who abused us inside. Joey D certainly helps because he's big, plays good defense in the post and is tough. Very happy we have him on the roster.

JDR definitely can provide some quality minutes providing interior strength on defense, and another 5 fouls. Credit Lavin for milking minutes for Stewart, CJ, Amir, Balamou while the game still mattered. He is searching for depth on the bench for games where we will need it, and hopefully a couple of guys will emerge as BE worthy.

Still wondering how good we would have been if Keith Thomas was even decent. Gotta get past that.

I love that were winning, but I don't think JDR has anything to do with it.

I don't think Joey would make the cuts as a walkon for any other team in the Big East.

Harrison deserves a ton of credit, he's playing the most efficient ball of his career. More points on less shots, less turnovers, and far more rebounds.

Agree that DLo is playing great, but the biggest surprise to me is the fantastic play of Sir Dom. He's been a beast!!

and I didn't mean to help hijack this thread

An indication of how well this season has gone so far is that the topics of the biggest surprise of the season and the player's game who has shown the most improvement would have support for OB, Pointer and Harrison.
If Jordan can be added to this threesome at some point we could really have something.

I agree on all points.
Absolutely true - across the bosrd.

Well, I wasn't aware that anyone had suggested that Joey and his handful of minutes had anything to do with our winning so far. That's just your setting up a 'straw man' so you can make an argument. Truly, a pointless exercise. Your second comment on Joey is just silly… and if you've watched him then you know that as well.

Completely agree, though, on your observation on D'lo.

Disagree. He gives just enough minutes to let Obekpa play hard. We'll see how this goes in Big East play. He gives a solid body that can help control the paint. Hoping for these best.
