Hear we’re in the mix for this kid. Averaged almost 12 PPG and 6 RPG as a Freshman at UNLV this past season. He played for the NY RENS. He’s the older brother of Jonathan Kuminga and the cousin of Mudiay on the Knicks.

Matt & Nebraska pursuing JN as well. Matt has been on him a while.

Looks like he shoots the 3 at a 39% clip, impressive for a guy his size

Just temper optimism with any player coming out of a pretty weak conference.

Interesting player. Danny Hurley seems after him as well and The Boneyard faithful seem to luv the kid.
A late April piece from the LV Review Journal mentioned Joel might test the NBA waters but won't hire an agent and was open to return to UNLV.
Kid appears 'wide open'..
We shall see.

One of the reasons why the Borman-Rens-Kuminga stuff doesn't excite me so much

Sorry I don’t understand.
Common view is Kuminga will never see a college court.
Yeah that's what I meant. If Kuminga's brother is talking NBA we know Kuminga is one of the best in his class.
Also I thought I heard another top Rens player left. So then why is Borman needed if the best player is pipe dream and the other is fair game.

It seems Borman has less immediate value than originally thought and I would be very surprised if he is added to staff. Macon on the other hand apparently has solid relationships with local AAU programs. Adding top honcho of one program, like Borman, can have its challenges re reactions of his competitors.

This is off-topic, but since there's 'mention' of staff, I'll take a chance. Lol.
Is Paul Pressey still being considered for a spot on CMA's 'staff' as an SA or some other non-recruiting role?
I may have missed it but haven't heard any updates.
Thanks.

Agree, don’t think Borman is a huge need. If anything I’d prefer another Swiss Army knife-type recruiter like Macon. Macon has been mentioned as a potential part of our staff for last several SJU hires and each time, got rave reviews, but our former staffs collectively never hired him.

Give me another guy with connections to lots of regions and programs that gives us the best coverage and I think we are in better shape. As is, Cleveland and Macon seem like an excellent duo. Anderson now has plenty of time to look around and even take into account the opinion of Macon in a good fit for both CMA and our program.

Local radio show discussing the transfer portal group from UNLV, and the comments re Joel N. included that best part of game is three-point shooting, worst aspect is his defensive play. He is a 6-8 SF, who can also give some time as a PF. He has multiple offers, including return to UNLV.
Nebraska is recruiting him, as well as another forward on portal list. Little Matt very busy.

And Matt likely prevails imo

Since we're gonna miss on Joel N, any news on Doudou Gueye, SF/PF Juco?
247sports has him 100% for Okla State. Hope they're wrong.
And very curious about Paul Pressey. Any word on him joining the Staff in any capacity?
He'd be a great asset to help develop our bigs, when we get a few, lol.
And his NBA creds would lend a nice patina to the program.

Wasn’t the rumor related to his son Phil?
