Joe Panik

And why not? He is certainly better then Hecchiarria and Guillarme. Plus they could use another lefty in the lineup.

Note: Mike Jorgensen was a student at sju but never played here.

Joe Panik has been a nice little pick up for the Mets. Currently has a 5 game hit streak and was 3 for 5 in Sunday’s win. Also is an excellent defensive player. Just what Mets needed after Cano went down.

Always proud to see one of our own do well. Hope Joe can keep it going.

Even though I'm a Braves fan (lived in Atlanta as a kid), I'm still rooting for Panik each night. Pretty cool that he is back in NYC.

Wishing nothing but the best for Panik and the Mets but only 9 games in I wouldn't jump to stating he has turned his season around. Need to see a larger sample size but at age 28 no reason he doesn't have a good chance too.

Should the Met's Bring Back Joe ??[/quote]
Hey Jersey Shore, I really like what he brought to the team. I have no idea what they are thinking but assuming Lowrie is back could make it tough for playing time. Panik might have to consider other opportunities if playing time or minor league assignment is possible. Of course, one injury to someone and he would be in position to play. He is a heady ball player, we could do worse.

I am definitely biased because he is an SJU grad, but watching him play I think he is a throwback second baseman. He makes contact, hits behind the runner, turns the double play, hits where the ball is pitched. Solid major leaguer and if he sits, could step in and provide quality play in the IF.
