Joe Panik in the bigs

From reading the report, it looks like Panik has a long MLB career ahead of him. Making it in the bigs is no guarantee for anyone, so good luck to him. It's really too bad that even with a relatively high profile, SJU baseball is a low visibility sport for students and alumni. Does the new stadium do anything for attendance? It doesn't help that in general baseball is not a great spectator sport.

I love nothing more than watching a baseball game in person. It is like playing chess.

Write up in Sunday Poughkeepsie Journal on local kid making it to the bigs failed to mention he was from St. John's.
