Good piece in today's NYTimes about Syracuse leaving, but mostly about JB.

The thing about this is (and I am reading between the lines), I don't think, for a second, JB wanted to leave the Big East, but being an organizational guy, when he speaks officially, he repeats the mantra of the party line. I'd love to hear what he tells his close friends privately.
He likes the old rivalries, loves NYC and the Garden and over the years strongly and boldly defended the Big East and especially its caliber of BB as being the best--bar none.
It is really going to sound weird down the road when he has to knock the Big East and argue for some bubble team from his new conference to get in the Big Dance over a Big East team (especially if it is an old timer)--I will be listening and thinking an alien has taken over his body.
Syracuse and JB and the Big East---R.I.P.!
