 while i know that our current roster is not completly set yet, and with the tryouts for walk-ons coming next week, i still think its a little embarassing that our home page is still diplaying lasts years roster. with an entire new squad (almost) i would have hoped to get a jump on identifying our team.

from the few pictures that have been released this is what i got.

Who cares what number they are going to wear. Let's worry about the fact that we have no depth what so ever in the front court.

Interesting point about what happens in Villanova decides to go to Div 1 football and both schools want to use Lincoln Financial Field. In a perfect world, this would be a great rivalry but I don't see either of these schools having an elite program in football anytime soon, although Temple is making strides.
 
If Temple wants into the Big East we should also try to go after Xavier, they also have a good basketball program. Instead of going after Army and Navy who are football only schools, Why don't we go after BYU? They currently part of an "independent league" (Army, Navy, Notre Dame).

If we are able to get (Temple, Xavier and BYU) this will help us keep TCU in the conference (they moved over because of football after all) as well as WVU and Rutgers, bring football money in (the whole reason for this mess), also keeping the Big East basketball conference strong.

Thoughts?
 
I think Xavier would be a great addition. I am not convinced that adding TCU will be a good thing for the conference. TCU is a program that only recently had had success in football. My fear is that they will become a flash in the pan type of program and eventually after key players/coaches graduate and or move on, they will fall behind the Texas', Texas A&M & Texas Techs of the world in football. Very few "New Kids on the Block" are able to sustain themselves against the traditional powers of college football. Bosie St is an exception as was Miami in the early 80s, but if you look at the sport, there are very few programs that can do what Butler, VCU & George Mason have done in basketball. That is what happened to Temple in the early 90s. They got an invite to the Big East b/c they were coming off a winning season and everyone thought that they were going to become a relevant program in the Philly area. We all know how that ended up. The flip side of the argument is that if Big East football is going to survive, we need to add a team that is relevant now and not worry about where they may be 5 or 10 years from now. Curious as to what others think.
