Some of you may know this already if you saw my photos from the UCF game. Jayson Williams was in attendance at the game (proudly sporting a St. John's shirt in red, unlike Mike Repole) and was having a great time interacting with everyone. I had a brief chat wth him & he was super friendly & cordial. You can tell he was super happy to be around folks from St. John's, and based on the all the photo/selfie requests (including me lol), it was definitely reciprocal.

I know some people will say "murdered " etc. I dont blame them. I'm just basing on my personal experiences with him since we went to school at the same time but he was one of the nicest people I ever met and a funny dude. Almost as funny as me. :) Seriously though he could have been a comedian. I'm not overlooking what he did I'm just saying what I witnessed personally and how he treated everyone I knew

About three years ago, I posted about two encounters I had with Jayson within a few weeks of each other (at a bar in Manhattan, no less; and no, he wasn't drinking anything alcoholic). The first time, I introduced myself to him and he was warm and welcoming ... and funny, of course. The second time (in the same location), I waved to him and he called me over and we chatted for a while, at which time I said I had to get back to my lady friend. He insisted on meeting her and couldn't have been better behaved, a true gentleman. That said, I agree that it's hard not to like him and to root for him even though he's done some terrible things -- the worst of which we're all aware, something that, if I remember correctly (not that it makes a difference to the victim's family and friends), was was done out of (stoned) stupidity, not out of hateful rage.

Seems like he's doing well... was all smiles and laughs at UCF game.

He's also doing good things in his community - this was just prior to Thanksgiving

Yes I was there and saw jason. Mixed feelings as well. Such a good guy who made such a bad mistake. I thought about getting my picture with him, but just couldn't do it. I'm glad he seems to be doing well with his life and I am sure he is sincerely sorry for what happened in the past.

Jayson’s personality was always outgoing, warm and engaging and yes he was funny as hell. Unfortunately he had a dark and reckless side too (sometimes because of alcohol but not always). He paid his debt to society, I hope he continues to stay out of trouble and hopefully he is a cautionary tell for others.
