Good luck to him - I hope he's straightening himself out.

From his vocabulary and the title of work in progress it also sounds as if Jayson is in a program of recovery.

I always found him to be an interesting and engaging man.and wish him the best of luck.

Can't help but notice the difference the title of his first book, Loose Balls and that of his second, Humbled.

Loose balls was a fun look at, behind the scenes, of a basketball team. I especially enjoyed his take when he physically threatened a St John's guard who wasn't getting him the ball.
A humorous look at another era of his life.

Loose Balls might also make an interesting title for a prison memoir. Ok, I know that is very tacky. I actually like Jayson and wish him nothing but the best.

Wasn't "Loose Balls" also the title of the book on the history of the ABA?

Yes. Great read especially for those of us who grew up while the ABA existed.

I met him twice and he was always very gracious and nice. I wish him the best

I met him once when he was a freshman playing at St Johns and came into the crowd to challenge hecklers to a fight. Mark Jackson who was a senior had to calm him down.

We all know Jayson was a train wreck who took a man's life. He also has an immensely likeable side to him, and unabashedly rooted at SJU games even after he became an NBA star. No other athlete has been as generous to the university as Jayson has been. If faith is helping him get his life in order, then I think that's fantastic. He definitely can use his fame to evengelize others, and his story of success, followed by despair and redemption is one that many people can identify with.
