Jakarr's time with 76's foiled

He should be riding the bus to practice and saving that money

I read an article somewhere maybe a year ago that Alfred Morris of Washington still drives a 1990 something Mazda or something like that and he had no plans of getting rid of it. Pretty crazy in this day and age of keep up with the joneses. Love stories like that

To JaKarr's defense, he had that car while at SJU. So it's not something he has bought since earning pay checks from the league.

Last year at this time we were telling him not to take money from the league. Now we're telling him how to spend it. Very paternalistic of us.

NBA minimum salary for a rookie is about 500K. That puts you at the highest federal tax bracket of 39.6%. His NYS income tax is 6.85%. That's almost 1/2 his income. He's smart not to blow any of the remaining $250K or so on an expensive car. Good for Jakarr. Too many NBA rookies have no concept of money and end up having to live off meal money to make ends meet.
