Opening Day For Met's and Yankees

Informative post but what would complete the deal is a revelation that we picked up another assistant coach and a few players
:)

Probably my 2nd favorite day (the last two seasons it's been the New Year's Eve Big East season opening marathon). Now if St. John's were playing tonight, well that would push today to number one.

My favorite sports day this year will be May 2nd - The Kentucky Derby and Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

The start of football season has surpassed baseball's opening day for me.
Also, the championship game is a lot like the Superbowl ... if my team is out then I prefer the divisional round with 4 great games.

But, that said, today is pretty awesome. This is a great week to be a sports fan.

October 15th, when it all starts.

Practice starts earlier now. Six weeks before your first regular season game.

My favorite is always the day of the Yankees home opener, since I go to it every year. It just happens to correspond with the regular opening day this year.

With the $100 price tag for the pay per view, or the many thousand dollar ticket price to be there, you need to cash on the Kentucky Derby to afford to see the fight. Since I have yet to see an exciting Mayweather fight, I'm wondering if it's best to wait a week until it's on cable.

Great question. It's definitely up there with opening round of NCAA tournament (Thursday/Friday). But I love the masters and tonight's game should be a classic. Mets starting 0-1 with Bartolo on the bump will be a bit of a buzz kill

I've always felt I have three birthdays each year: My actual birthday, baseball's opening day - which is a great one because it's filled with hope and newness, and the last day of the baseball season, where I feel a year older.

But today is a great day! (And the Met's improved their opening day record to 35-19. If only there was a 4 corner stall in the baseball season)

1-0 for my mets so my dreams of a perfect season still intact.

Opening day of football is my favorite because I know my sundays are on lockdown where I don't do anything else but Veg and watch tv those days and that also means St Johns basketball is right around the corner.

Love opening of baseball 2nd not just for baseball but I love watching the masters. Unfortunately I'm going to be in Maryland a good part of the weekend so hopefully can get back by 3 or 4 on sunday to catch the end

I never buy pay per view events but I'm going to be bucking up for this fight

Mets will be wire to wire NL East champs... Undefeated!
