Is ESPN Getting What It Deserves?

Looks like all that kissing up to the ACC hasn't exactly helped them. No wonder they are behind so many ACC Tournament to MSG rumors.

Espn is certainly not happy about losing MSG and the big East tourney. They just didn't want to bid high enough, so now they are trying to force their ACC property to move up north. After all, they did orchestrate much of this ACC conference as it stands. As far as I can see, Fox got a good deal with the Big East in the media capital and I doubt we will lose rights to our MSG deal as it looks right now. I'd certainly love to see ESPN taken down a notch by their competition. It would be good for sports and viewers overall.

Not to mention, Fox Sports 1 will have their own "Sportscenter" type shows too. A lot of people think they're just showing the games and that's it, but it's a whole program. It really may take a lot of college basketball viewers away from ESPN. What would make ESPN REALLY angry is if a few unexpected teams hung around the top 25 all year like SJ and Providence giving us 6 ranked teams and more attention while the ACC had a disappointing season and Cuse went downhill after Boeheim.

Welcome back, Joe3.

Hopefully, Directv will carry all Big East games as part of their sports package.

Look and see if you have Speed Channel. If you do that will change to Fox Sports 1 in mid August.

Look and see if you have FUEL Channel. That will change to Fox Sports 2 when they launch that. It might be same time as 1 but I think its still up in the air.

Moose, ive heard that Gus Johnson has signed on to do basketball games on FS1, have you heard of any other commentators that have signed that might have worked for ESPN/CBS in the past?

Gus has been signed on by Fox for awhile. Pretty much any Fox employee 'could' be working on games. Think of anyone who does NFL games. Kenny Albert is a guess of mine as a local who is a Fox employee. They also have Erin Andrews, newly signed Clarissa Thompson.

Thanks. Speed Channel is 607 HD and Fuel is 618 HD.
