Interview With Former A.D. Anton Goff

Will have to listen to it, but I'm not sure he is going to be telling the actual reason for his departure.

I will say this about Anton. His enthusiasm for our teams, energy, and passion, and his interaction with students and alumni and fans was refreshing after the dour Monasch departed.
 
Says his family never moved from CT and he was living in NYC and commuting back when he could has two kids in grades 6/9 and needed to do what’s best for the family. Has very positive things to say about St. John’s

Sure there is more but happy he is settled where he is and happy we got Cragg
 
I have not listened to the podcast I will do that at some point but the reason for his departure maybe two fold:

1. Chris never reported to him so he had no real power or influence over the men’s basketball program.Which begs the question why hire an ad like that in the first place?

2. Rumor has it he had a drunk incident at stouts after the BET, may have said or done something Juvenile that got reported back to Bobby G., at the time of his departure was not aware of this but found out later on.

A very strange hire and departure. Basically a powerless cheerleader. Who didn’t even complete three seasons.
Very strange.

While he didn’t have authority over the Men’s basketball program, some of the other sports saw upgrades in facilities (example baseball got a new synthetic field) during his tenure and he was out there promoting and fundraising more than his predecessor.
