Excellent You Tube interview with Marvin and Justin
Great kids - very informative
Makes me really excited for this season
Can't wait to see both of them in red and white
I think that we have a shot to be much better than most "experts" predict

Thank God for the transfers Matt has been able to get over past two years. I know he is getting heat for the Luther whiff, but have to give him credit on this. Owens, Clark & Simon are not only talented players, but bring a lot of maturity, spirit & grit to the table. I cringe thinking what this year would be like without them.

24 second shot clock + 4 seconds over half court = A lot of points scored.

Happy that they both emphasized defense as well.

Does this setback reopen recruiting Dwayne Morgan? Where it was getting 'tight' for '18 ships--we have some 'flexibility' now. Sigh.
Looking at the glass half-full!

Yes glad they got on board. We will surprise this yr

Thanks for posting.

Marvin Clark and Justin Simon are bright, articulate, and likable kids who will be embraced by the St.John's family.

After Luther Muhammad put a damper on the mood to his board everyone should be excite by the energy and anticipation which Marvin & Justin expressed. I believe that Justin Simon becomes a valuable player this season.

I really hope so. As I said in another post, assuming no additional red flags, adding Morgan would seem to be a no brained.

Very thoughtful of you Mark to find and post this video!
As others have commented, can only be highly impressed with Marvin and Justin!
Maybe this is the road we will take - transfers mixed in w HS and JC. More than one way to succeed even w/o 5 Star players.
Thanks again. Impressive interview.

I know this is interview with Clark/Simon but I think Mr. Trimble is going to help this year. Pretty strong looking guywho can shoot. I really want to see his game.

Agree here. Kid is built like a bull, with leaping ability and shot near 50% from the outside last year. My gut tells me the kid is gonna be dangerous for us. Seems he can probably easily make up for what we lost with Mussini and maybe give even more.

All good and so nice focusing on what we do have in Trimble, Clark and Simon - Hoo Ray for kids who actually want to be here!
As to the others, as Bobby Darin sung - bye bye, farewell, so long (Beyond the Sea)
:)

He does seem like a great last minute get. Gives us a little breathing room on missing out on Luther. Let's just hope we don't loose Ponds. Although as good as he is, he is too undersized for an NBA 2 and doesn't seem to have the the extreme desire to jump to Europe like Lovett. Of course it's possible that Lovett could stay. It doesn't cost any money to dream.

MCNPA/General/Richard,
Some of the things I am reading here I think are coming from frustration. Like I said in another post we have Keita, Roberts, DIxon and Diakite lined up for 2018. On paper, that doesn't look too bad. Let's see how Trimble, Clark and Simon do this season. Important to focus on this season because maybe we play well and can start to get/see more impact recruits. Yes this is a big SEASON. Luther Mohammed went to Ohio State. Let's stop acting like Magic Johnson just passed up on us and focus on guys who WANTED to be here. He didn't impact this year anyway. The 2018 season is a long way off. I too doubt Ponds/Lovett stays after this season but that is Unknown. They are here now so let's play this out. Maybe we will surprise and we add to 2018 class! Long way to go.

A year (September 2017-2018) is a long stretch with recruiting and roster changes - HS, JC, transfers and overseas...one or two good ones - perhaps a talented player unbeknownst to us now can appear as a pleasant surprise. Possibilities!
How about a NYC kid transferring back!
So yes sjc88
A long and potentially rewarding way to go :)

And the recruiting connections - which take time to develop - that CM & staff have been making would likely be strengthened over this additional year.

Trimble had a nice stroke last night but looked like the slowest guy on the team. Maybe he was just dogging it. ;)
As far as the Simon and Clark interview, look for the expanded interview, with biographical picture, soon to be published by Simon & Schuster.
