This article is very interesting
I felt that it deserved it's own thread
I apologize if it has already been posted

A few tidbits:

1. Mullin never reported to Goff when he was the A.D. He reported directly to the President
2. Mullin wanted to hire Rice last year but the President would not allow hm to do so
3. Mullin went over Cragg's head to the President to try to get an extension, which was refused

An interesting read. Enjoy!!!

True
Not True
True
Point 2 is true. Mullin did want Rice.
Maybe he did at first. But he refused to pull trigger when he was given the chance I've heard from a few folks

the strings attached by the president made it to difficult for Rice and Mullin to accept. If Rice is hired we win a few more games and Mullin is given extension. Now the big money guy controls and does not not want Mullin. Fact

Was there more to hiring Rice, like you can hire him but need to lessen Mitch's role ? Bottom line that was all pre Cragg.

Mitch would have gone back to special advisor role. Staff of St Jean, Matt and Rice. Rice would have also helped recruit.

Strings regarding behavior, reporting, and evaluation. To both Mullin and Rice they where to stringent. Not saying I agree just passing along info.

The past is all water under the bridge. All you can do is look forward at this point.

I'm glad he's finally taking a greater interest in the direction of the marquee program here. No problem with this. But the real estate, and former airline janitor turned general counsel turned airline CEO families are going to be alienated. So be it. Time to move on.

That's a helluva career path!

Who is the airline CEO ??

If Repole is backing, among others, who can afford that type of contribution, I'm thankful to have them engaged in program.
