If Duke goes into our game on January 25th coach K will be going for his 1,000 victory.

Quite possible as Duke has a game at Louisville and will need just one other loss.

Expect the Duke fans to be out in full force, get your tickets now!

I think he's going to get it before that. Winning at Wisconsin greatly decreased the chance that he will be going for # 1,000 vs. us.

This will be the case regardless. It will be another potential home game for the Blue Devils for a myriad of reasons. Similar to Cuse games, Nova games, Creighton games, Gtown games at the Garden.

Unless the "marketing team" steps up big time and starts firing on all cylinders, we will be outnumbered.

the fact SJ is now ranked increases the attractiveness of the game to the Duke faithful and increases the likelihood they will look for tickets.

Your starting to enter troll territory if you keep bringing up the attendance. We are all aware the attendance hasn't been great, I thought we put this to bed.

Georgetown? Their fans are worse than us. We actually had our best crowd against them last year. Our current team is going to prove your predictions wrong. And I am as down on our fan base as you. If this team keeps this level of play they will attract crowds

Troll territory? How many games do you go to a year?

Not talking to you Buck. Chris7 complained about the attendance in another thread hours ago and his post in this thread was literally a copy and paste. We've gone over the situation with the attendance over and over and beat this dead horse again and again.

We are a top 20 team now, playing good teams should start to bring in more fans, let's see what happens.

The attendance will go up if we retain our ranking. If we lose it, attendance will be similar to last season. Right now we are last in the Big East trailing Seton Hall and DePaul. Not trying to beat a dead horse but I could not believe the crowd at the Gonzaga game. Not only was no one there. There was almost no noise from the St. John's fans.

I wouldnt get my balls twisted if the attendance isnt good Friday night.

I know we are ranked and all, but its a week before Christmas. Students are on break and the CA crowds are usually disappointing. And lets be honest, St Marys is a good team but they arent from a major conference and they arent a marquee draw like Nova GTown Duke or The Cuse.

I expect very stellar crowds for the "big" MSG games this season. Duke always sold out, even when we were bad, and the crowd was at least 65/35 SJU.The reason they might seem like they outnumber us is maybe because they are winning. If we are winning the game then we dominate the arena from a fan standpoint

Fans will show up when there is a major buzz in the city. The day of the Pitt game, I had to travel. As I went through security at the airport, multiple people were talking about St. John's Pitt - it was like the old days, when every sports fan in NY knew when we were playing, and hung on the outcomes. There are a lot of closet SJU fans who will re-emerge only once they are convinced that we are for real. We aren't there yet, but if we start the Big East season with 4 or 5 wins and only 1-2 overall losses, it will start to build.
