Inconsistency

In this upcoming homestand we are about to sort all this out, but for right now, the teams in the Big East are very inconsistent. There is the obvious top of Cuse and LVille. But the rest is wide open. Cincy lost to us and Notre Dame. Pitt lost to Rutgers, but then come back and kill and i mean KILL GTOWN. Gtown who of course lost Marquette over the weekend. It seems like none of these teams are as good as advertised, and the door is open for STJ to make a jump in the standings.

The door is certainly open from the 3rd spot down. This is why the Big East is awesome...there is so much parity that any team can win on any given night. I don't feel safe against DePaul, and I also don't feel safe against Syracuse. Being so unpredictable makes it fun to watch and like you said, gives us a shot to make a big jump in standings. With that said, I would not be all that shocked if we lose to Rutgers then beat Georgetown. Every game from here on out is a coin flip.

After Saturday we could be 3-1. Rutgers is beatable and Georgetown has a tough time scoring. That would be 2 ranked teams that we`d have beaten though Gorgetown. Then another ranked team Notre Dame comes in which if we beat them we`d be 4-1cand 3 of those 4 would have been against ranked team. Would be very impressive but with this team we can`t look ahead.

One game at a time.

Watching the Georgetown game last night made me think that this is so true. The BE is always like that though. There is a lot of opportunity for us to get on a roll.

As already described by a master of jarringly graphic, image-provoking prose on BEB, the Rutgers game will likely be an ugly, rock fight of a game. But if the team can gut out a win, I think stealing a win from either ND or Gtown puts us in decent shape for bubble team contention this season.
