I guess were not the only board that's upset...

Some of my favorites:
"Can we ask UCONN if we can join the AAC?"

"I know that we had no choice but to go to the ACC for several reasons, but I can't help but think that going from the premiere program and founder of a major conference to at best the third thought behind conference founders and powers Duke and UNC has started to impact this program negatively. Combine it with NCAA allegations, a change in coach soon and it's a recipe for disaster."

"If the next game was Chino Hills vs Syracuse who wins? I got Chino Hills by 9"

Two other good ones:

"Which is NY's basketball team now. Undoubtedly St. John's. CUSE gave up that position."

"chris mullen is a genius"

I guess "mullen" is better than "Mullins"

Have always felt that those schools/teams moving from the Big East to the ACC meant a start on the road to irrelevancy. See BC, Va Tech, Pitt. Now the same may be happening with the Ex-Cuse. With Boeheim retiring, it will only get worse for them. That's sad....NOT.

Boeheim and Syracuse can't lose enough games for me
While he has been very successful, I can't stand his whiny demeanor on the bench

BTW, noticed that in all the TV shots of Boeheim talking with his players (either in TOs or when they were taken out of the game) he seemed to be calmly talking with them. Have no knowledge of the situation(s), but my guess is that he was smilingly berating them for their play, in his usual snarky manner. If he was actually teaching or coaching them, I would think his team/sideline discussions would be a bit more animated with hand/arm gestures, foot movement, etc. Can't tell whether its his usual dour demeanor, or that he just isn't interested anymore.

"Seeing Mullin's constant smile when the Johnnies were building their lead and throughout the 2nd half just made me want to cringe as an SU fan. My interpretation of his jolliness was...golly, if we could only play SU several times a year that would be beautiful. :("

I loved this one. Great game planning by mullin and staff
"Ive never seen a team attack our zone quite like St. John's did tonight. They were starting their offense so dang high up that it literally created vast quantities of real estate down low, real estate that their smaller, quicker slasher types would use to go right around our bigger slew foots.

I've never seen anything like it. they hit three after three in the first half, and then dunked on us all second half."

PRICELESS oldschool! Thanks for the post it made my day and the game made my week leading up to Christmas. Hard to see any gift topping that one.

my favorite quote was from the syracurse fans in the stands who had this to say to their coach and players:

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

That was my reaction as well. Found it very strange, especially in the first half when they were playing poorly but the game was easily within reach and far from over. Looked totally uninterested and thinking about golf, not basketball.

It was grand. I don't wish SU any bad will and I hope they win a big share of their remaining games in conference. SU could be considered the face of the BE in the last 20 years and their results benefited all of us. Boeheim seems to be a miserable person but he didn't want to leave the BE. Unlike Dona Shellah (?) at Miami years ago thought, the money is better and we will grow our program in the ACC. How's that working out so far? Does Miami still have basdketball?
I was at the game in my senior year in Syracuse when we last beatr them by 30+. At the time we were leading the historical series by a wide margin. Since our downfall after 1999, SU,and UConn helped carry out luggage in the BE. Be thankful and wish them well. I kind of "hate" them just as much as everyone andf I was screaming louder than all of you at the end of the game but the morning draws me to remember how super it was to have them as a regular league competitor. We're still NY's team but they are also still Upstate's team..

I have lasting visions of Jonny Flynn celebrating on their bench while giving us a beat down a few years back. I hate them with a passion and don't care if they never win another game. The "NY's College Team" thing is such a slap at our program that every SJU fan should hate them for it.

To answer your question Miami has finished in the post season top 10 2 of the last 4 years and Larranaga, a genuinely good guy and coach or so his nephew used to tell me, has won 25 or more 3 of the last 4 years and has an overall winning percentage of 68% since taking over. Oh, and they're in the also receiving votes list in both polls this week. So yeah, they still have basketball and it's better than ever (even better than Leonard Hamilton's brief 3 years of glory). LOL

PS the only other coach in the post BE era Frank Haith was considered a bit of a failure but he did have a winning record there with 5 post season appearances in 7 years, but 4 of them were NITs.
