Hoya Paranoia Cured

St. Johns sweeps the Hoyas!  Remember the days when we dreaded playing Georgetown?
Not anymore!
Four of the five starters played excellent and it proved to be enough to trounce the Hoyas in their cozy home gym. Ironically, redmen fans have been discussing replacing Carnesecca Arena because it is small. Well, I've been in Division Two gyms bigger than McDonough gym..
How low have the Hoyas sunk? The gym holds 2,200 people and it was far from a sellout.
Of course Georgetown has much more important things to do on its campus. A top 25 school academically and leading research university that spends a quarter million annually on research alone. It has a comfortable 1.2 billion dollar endowment. Yet, for a school with a legendary basketball history in the Big East, they haven't demolished old McDonough gym like we want to demolish CA.  No, redmen fans, it is not only about facilities. Gonzaga and Duke are proof of that myth.

Back to the game. St John's was in control the entire game and Champ got his mojo back.
Soriano had a great game against Mutombo Jr.  Nyiwe grabbed a bunch of rebounds and is coming along nicely as a baakup.  The only player who had a sub par performance was Mathis.
On to Butler and another old gym. This one is a tough house to win in but a win is almost a must to help salvage the season and coach's winning season record..
I predict a close win over Butler as this is not a team playing the "Butler Way".
Need all the prime time players to show up.  Of course if we had Pinzon we would win going away but he is still on double secret probation for something that is very secret.

They play all their games in the NBA arena. Tonight was a rescheduled game and the arena had a concert scheduled.

I don’t get the fascination with PINZON? Sure he’s a player with potential to make a solid contribution in the future but certainly not a difference maker at this point in time. I think that posters on this site, as has been done with many players in the past, have overrated his ability at this time. At best his contribution would be about the level what Stanley’s contribution has been to date.

Disagree with Jermane- Pinzon is sorely missed off the bench- High basketball IQ who facilitates, handles, and can knock down open 3.  More well rounded than smith and Mathis and would allow coach to play Wusu or Pinzon solid minutes depending on who was the hot hand each night. He is a legitimate rotation piece going forward.
