How much improved

Will next season be with our new recruits? Please someone give me a sense of optimism because I do not know if I can endure another season like this one!

Too many variables. 15 wins would be a nice number but no matter how highly regarded incoming guys are you just never know. And honestly you still don't really know about Chris Mullin.

Known variables would be offensive improvement by either or Sima and Yakwe. Ellison improving his shot and decision making and Mussini getting bigger and stronger and more confident.

Again 15 sounds right but you can't really base a specific number on anything concrete.

I believe we will be a much improved team defensively next year. Even though they are both short, LoVett and Ponds are both good on ball defenders and quicker defensively than anyone we had on the court this year. Because of their lack of height, I think we may need to play some zone to keep them from being posted up, but they will be better on the ball and generate some steals as well. Also, Sima and Yakwe can hopefully learn to play together and defend their own man as well as defend the rim. All of that should help a lot IMO.

Could the defense we watched during the final two weeks be worse at this level?

Hey Paultz. . .does your new avi portend something happening with Mussini?
