How in depth when watching the team?

So I will say that honestly up until this team, I never took full notice on how players covered their man on defense all the time. At times I would purposely isolate one one guy to watch but it wasn't often. I just enjoyed watching generally and didn't look at it from that tactical standpoint. I would hear some posters post some specific things how a guy was late here and there, used their hands more than they needed to etc. and be like its so weird how I didn't look at it from that perspective and others who I guess know the plays and rotations part of the game much better than I do watch it.

That said, This year I have been watching this team so differently. I find myself loving to watch them defensively. I love to watch in unison how they defend. How they move, rotate and help on defense. I watch how prey can stick to the guard so well when they switch and I'm so impressed with him and the others who can guard and stay in front of supposed mismatch so well.

Pretty cool watching for this. All these years of just watching but now with a purpose for me on the defensive side.

This team runs the weave, but on defense. Fun to watch them in action.
you guys able to explain to me the reason behind the Half court offense "Weave" we see? .... Intent behind it?

which one of coaches did it religiously- was it Lavin? feel like they did it till there was 8 seconds on the shot clock..

I’m sure he’s got more particular reasons, but a few things it does:

-Makes defense move. Instead of getting to high ball screen with 4 guys standing around, we get movement and force defense to communicate.
- Eats some clock (defensive, grind team)
- Allows our best offensive players to attack screens from triple threat (opposed to live dribble)
- it’s also a lot of false action, leads to tweeks later in the game that catch defense off guard.

The first I remember doing it and it bugging me was Jarvis. Mostly because he didn't know what the second step of that was. Once the Church guys were gone it was weave until you dropped then take an ill advise 3.
