How Do We Compare With .......?

 Forgive my lack of memory, but I was wondering how our present team of freshmen compared with the 2007 team of Kennedy, Horne and Burrell. I realize neither group could shoot well. What else do you see?

Tough comparison...they had a top 75 soph, Anthony Mason, and a few other upperclassman with experience. That team had depth and size, but didn't have one iota of the talent or the potential these freshman have.

This squad has a smallish PF playing center, a SF playing PF and center, a pair of 2/3 wings playing the 3/4, and three combo guards trying to hold down the point. All that with no depth to do the exact thing his team was built to do...run.

Those guys were a 6 seed...imagine what these guys could end up at with some more bodies and THREE more years.

I thought about making a similar comparison but then thought it wouldn't be fair given the lack of depth that we have this year. I don't think anyone doubts that we would have a better record if Sampson, Pelle & Lindsey were a part of this team from the beginning with Polee as well.

Biggest similarity of this year's team and the 2007 is the inability to get decent shots, much less score, in the half court offense (largely as a result of the lack of decent point guard). 2007 team was utterly embarrassed in virtually every HOME game against talented teams. And yet, as seniors, albeit adding Hardy and Brownlee, became an NCAA team under the current coaching staff. This year's team has a much more talented freshman class overall- add size and depth next year-which will compete with anyone in the country next year.
