man... that pic goes hard. wonder how many they combed through before settling on that one.
Forget which game in the Tourney it was - think Ohio St- but Tyrone Grant or Artest dislocated their finger and instead of going to the bench- they went to each other on the court to get it back in...
That was middle school for me- followed up with a BE Tourney win over UConn the next year- was awesome being at that game.
...did not know i was in for 20+ years of misery lol.... which are HOPEFULLY over! lol

This pic goes hard for me as well as these were the years I was attending SJU and got to know many of these guys. Artest was always a funny guy in class.

Still my favorite Johnnie team I’ve ever rooted for. I was a little too young to fully remember/enjoy the Mullin years. As much as I loved the Sealy/Werdann tourney team in ‘91, this team just had such a toughness to them and it always felt like they were gonna win no matter what. They just hated to lose.
