Not exactly a great Spring season for Iowa State fans. ouch

they just imploded. do they hire an assistant ? Sucks when you have to get a coach this late

Evan Daniels ‏@EvanDaniels With Fred Hoiberg out at Iowa St, the question is who replaces him. ISU asst T.J. Otzelberger is getting the buzz. Has strong midwest ties.

Fraschilla listed amongst a number of candidates.

Gotta be a joke.

Chris Mack mentioned in that same article.

Tyronn Lue would be my #1 name. im sure he has no connection with the school but he can coach

I think Lue may be in line for an NBA head coaching gig soon, so may not want to walk now. Plus he's already making $1 million, so he can afford to wait for the right job and not starve in the meantime.

I'm not sure if this impacts Ed Pinckney's decision to come to St. John's, but Hoiberg worked in the front office of the Timberwolves during the same time Ed Pinckney was an assistant coach with Minnesota. I guess it depends on their relationship, money, and whether he wants to stay in the pros with the hopes of landing a head coaching gig in the future or would he rather build something with his dear friend.
