Heron Staying Put

Wow, some strong quotes in there. Doesn't really seem to be a team player.

No different than the hundreds of players who transfer or decide to leave college early these days. Heron at least has an NBA body and good talent for the pros. Marcus Lovett considered doing the same thing and he was a good teammate. In today's instant gratification world these students are simply athletes with little academic incentive. Most don't realize that staying in college is always better than playing in the D league or most foreign leagues that will be there for them after their 4 years of college.

The difference is ML was thinking about going pro. Heron was openly talking about transferring and decided to come back because he didn't want to sit out a year. He never mentioned wanting to be back to win or be with his teammates.

Around time of Finsl Four, Heron camp did a good job communicating his potential availability, thus all the rumors. Perhaps that increased his "leverage" with Auburn. :)
