In troubling times people often look for a voice to lead them though the rough waters. It could be a religious leader, a political leader or possibly someone in the mental health profession. Unfortunately for SJU fans I am all you have. But never fear I am here for you!
First if I was coaching, and I am starting to think maybe I should here is what I would do.
Start Sima, Yakwe, Johnson, Mussini and Ellison for rest of year.
Sima is a no brainer but you have to start the evaluation on whether or not Yakwe can be a starting BE 4 or just an energy guy off the bench.
As for Johnson, as much as people like to complain, his willingness to shoot every shot does take the pressure off the younger kids. Plus if we are going to win a game, he will have a big say in it I believe.
As for Ellison, use the rest of the games to see if he can contribute on a much better team and if he could possibly play the point. Honestly what do we have to lose and Mussini is clearly not the answer at the point.
Speaking of the Italian Steve Shurina. I would play him off the ball the rest of the year to see if he can finally knock down some shots. Take the pressure off the point off of him and if he continues to struggle to hit shots, well next year he will have to fight to get any minutes.
Finally you have to evaluate which one of Jones or Amar is going to be able to give you some minutes next year. My money is on Jones.
As for the fans, I have a couple of suggestions to make the rest of the games more bearable.
1. Find a bookie that will let you gamble on just the first half. I think you can bet SJU to cover for the first half in most games.
2. Drink Heavily
