 The arrogance of Mr. rivers saying " we were the better team. We had the better players" No Mr. Rivers, you may have had the better team but the Johnnies had the better players, and the best player, we were just younger. The article and that a hole Coach K, gives little credit to St. Johns at all. Looking forward to blasting them again in the not too distant future.

Rivers was at best the third best player on the court.
 
 Coach K should be pissed. While our team played hard they do not have the size to match against Duke. When, and if, we get some size, we'll be A top 25 team. Until then, it's recruit, recruit, recruit...

Surprised At coach K for not giving St Johns credit.for the way his teamed played. With no help on the inside and getting shafted .the distribution of fouls and considering of all the pts they score at the.free throw line man to man we are a more telented team Coach give give these young kids the credit do them. .All Freshmen six man .rotation not a player over 6-8 down by 4 with under 3 mins to play It must have really hurt coach K if he could show some praise

It's an unwelcome but perhaps fortunate quirk of fate that we have Lavin focussing on just that as Dunlap shepherds these freshmen through their baptism of fire.

This is what I was referring to yesterday on another thread. It was almost as if he was saying, St Johns did not play well, we played bad. St Johns should not have been in the game with us. He is an arrogant individual who tries to hold himself as if he is above all the dirt in college basketball. smh
 
He said the same thing about his team last year (that they had no energy) after we blew them out at the Garden.

Its his MO...I would take his opinion with a grain of salt, let clowns like Vitale bow down to him. He is not going to admit that he was outcoached, which he definitely was last year and probably was this year as well. Lucky he, his team was playing 8 against 5, with those three refs lead by clown Donato, who has been terrible for 25-plus years.

Not surprised at all the Coach K did not give us credit like he did for Norm Roberts. He as well as all the Big East coaches realize that we are on the verge of being a super power so he doesn't want to give Coach Lavin any fuel for recruiting.

Rivers was the third best freshman on the court...Cook was the 7th best. I wonder if Mr. Cook regrets his decision after seeing 5 freshman starters come in to Cameron and fight to within 4 points with 22 seconds left? A team without a clear-cut point guard, while he rides the pine.

Only one of the refs in the game yesterday has worked more ACC games than Big East games this year.
 
It seems to me that when you have a team that is supposed to be superior to the opponent that the so called superior team always starts out getting the home calls earlier in the game, but if the so called less talented team plays hard and stays in the game then things seems to go more evenly for the remainder of the game. But there is no doubt in my mind that the Dookies always get the calls at home because of the obnoxious crowd that always fills their arena. The problem with the crowd and it happens to other teams fans also is that when the team is good for a long period of time the fans think they have an endowed right to winning and they become obnoxious to the visiting team, as if some of those fans were even around when the Dookies became an outstanding team.
 
Even if you take the calls out of the equation it is a huge advantage having 21 home games to 10 away games. Its like that every year for them.
