Will be up to Long Island to visit family in Dec. Timing works to be able to get in two games during visit. .Will go to game on 12/22 @ CA vs. Sacred Heart, and then away game vs. Seton Hall @ Prudential Center on 12/29 on the way home.

This 12/29 SH game has an 8:30 PM start time so will get out late (10:30-11PM).

Planning to stay the night in NJ then drive back to NC next morning. I"ll be w/ my wife and teenage daughter.

I see a Courtyard Marriott literally around the corner, walking distance to Prudential Center. Looks nice and good reviews...I've never been to Prudential Center before and haven't been to Newark in a long time. Have no idea about safety from arena to hotel.

Considering two options

- stay at this hotel

- get in car, 11PM or so and drive somewhere outside of Newark on I-78 and find another hotel which will be an even later check in

Any input would be appreciated for those who know the area after games at Prudential.

Thanks !

Thanks ![/quote] where on LI you coming to ? Dont know about hotels out there but some of the 114 crew might be going to the away game so if we go I'll let you know about that as well

RedstormNC:

I've been to the Pru Center a couple of times but can't comment on the hotel or even what the area is like at 11 pm because the only time I went there at night we parked in a garage where we didn't have to go outside.
However, I lived in Bridgewater, NJ just off 78 for 16 years and can give you some good places to stay in that area (about a 40 minute drive from Newark) that will leave you close to 78 west and 81 south assuming that is the way you'd drive home to our beloved Mooresville, NC.

Thanks guys... I read hotel reviews on trip advisor and seems like there is some connection from the lobby to the parking garage to Prudential Center … $102 for the night....not sure what I'll do yet...

may just save the money and shell out the $ for 2nd hand tix to Duke game at Cameron

MJM - We stay by my in-laws in Massapequa, then go by my sister in Wantagh and my dad in Franklin Square.

NCJ - may take you up privately on a few recommendations...that's the way we do travel.

Redstorm NC , I work a block away from the Prudential Center. Stay the Hilton in the Gateway . You can walk to the Prudential Center through the Gateway and when you exit the Gateway the arena is less than a half block away. Then after the game everyone will be walking back through the Gateway to get to the train and you can enter your hotel through the inside of the Gateway. It's the most convenient hotel to stay at if you're going to a game at the Prudential Center.

Thanks again to all who replied here or sent private message.

Ended up picking up 3 tickets on stubhub in Section 7 which I believe will be section behind SJU's bench.

Got the Marriot Courtyard hotel. Called front desk and they confirmed there is connection from hotel to arena w/they dedicated parking garage.
