Heat Win Finals

Well, they did it again. I don't know about you guys, but watching game 6 really did feed into the conspiracy theories with people saying how the NBA wanted it to go to 7 games for more profit and a chance to make more LeBron mania headlines and shirts. With about 25 seconds left one Spurs player drove to the hoop, drew lots of contact and didn't make the shot. No call there. Ok, so now they are down by 3 with literally like 2 seconds left. Danny Green gets the ball, throws up a 3, and gets fouled by Bosh. There's 5 points totally down the drain in a game that could have made the Spurs champions. Unreal.

Even worse is having to endure all these annoying front-running Heat fans established the day LeBron came. I hate when people live 1,000 miles away with no connection to the team but just want to be associated with a winner, so they make the choice to hop on the bandwagon. Then when they win (as they were widely expected to) they act like the world was against them and say "we did it! I told you haters!". I realize big 3's are becoming more common nowadays, but I think it's ruining the NBA. The Miami Heat are just one big fantasy draft. To make matters even worse, LeBron was aided by the absence of Rose, Westbrook, Melo dislocated his shoulder in the end, George Hill, Kobe, etc. It just feels so fake to me. Oh well, forgive my rant.

I live in S FL and root for the Heat. Its funny I turned off the TV w about 35 sec left in game 6,thinking the series was over. The following day I was pleasantly surprised to hear the Heat won game 6. This was a heck of a finals. People still criticize James. But, he is a real competitor and does it all, defend ,rebound ,assist and score.

If you think Sports are fixed by the Leagues why do you bother following? I'd suggest you find something better to do with your time because its the farthest thing from the truth. Refs are refs, they make decisions on their own. A League is not going to risk the integrity of a multi billion dollar business by fixing anything.

C'mon, you didn't see David Stern trying to pants Ray Allen when he hit that three!!! FIX!

If Game 6 was fixed it was because Popovich was in on it; how he took Duncan out on the last 2 possessions was ridiculous. The Heat got 4 good looks at 3's, 2 on offensive rebounds with an all-time great and the Spurs best rebounder on the bench. So going small did not prevent good looks on the initial 3's of each possession and allowed the Heat to get second looks. On a lesser scale but still important, he decided to move the ball to half court rather than use the full court in the timeout in-between. This allowed the Heat to dictate who caught the inbound pass so instead of Parker or Ginobli, you had a rookie shooting. Leonard is a real good player but it is a lot to expect a rookie to make 2 in that situation. Horrible job by Popovich IMO. The refs had nothing to do with that outcome and to say it was fixed is ridiculous. At the end of the day, James and Allen had to stick 3's and they did. To say they would have not gotten both 2nd chances had Duncan been in the game is a pretty safe assumption. Popovich may be a really good coach but he overcoached big time and it cost the Spurs a championship IMO.

The 2 things I'm focused on were 1) the drive to the hoop and no foul and 2) Green's last second 3 and no foul. Replays clearly show their hands/wrists/arms were hit...it wasn't just ball. Even the announcers were saying "in the middle of a game, those 2 would have been called but because it's at this point, it won't be". Why? How can there be different rules pertaining to different parts of the game? I'm not saying it's fixed, but the Heat clearly received a TON of help from the refs and all those injuries to just about every other superstar in their way. The Heat just seem so fake like no team ever before. They get LeBron, Wade, Bosh then because that's just not enough they get Birdman, and the best 3 pt shooter ever (arguably) Ray Allen. It's a joke. I still think players should be classified as Class A, Class B, and Class C free agents. There should be a quota for how many you can sign regardless of how much money the team has. Let teams sign one Class A and a few Class B's or so on. This will prevent fantasy drafts and video game basketball.

The days of parity are gone. It will now be: Heat, Thunder, Bulls alternating championships for the next 5 yrs. Before you say "but you're a Knicks fan and they have a team of superstars too", no they don't. The only star on that team is Melo. Amare used to be one but he's beyond finished.

Ahhh to be the angry young man and everything is a conspiracy. First off when was there ever parity in the NBA. See Celtic, Lakers, Bulls, Pistons, Celtics. Next year may be wide open with the disarray of the Lakers and the bulls and pacers improving and even lowley cleveland getting quality players. As far as the game being fixed by the refs please go back and look at games 6 and 7. IMHO the refs were constantly giving the spurs a break, There were constant shoves and forearms that the spurs were giving inside, bullying the heat, that were never called. In Game 7 at one point it was 15 free throws to the spurs and 3 to the heat. As far as the block on Green it was about as clean as it comes in the NBA. If they had called that a foul there would have been a riot on the court. There are enough real controversies (IRS – NSA) in this country don’t make one where it does not exist.

I can tell you one thing: NBA players travel much more than college players and don't get called for it, AND guys who drive to the hoop get fouled hard on almost every play.
