Having Fun

These guys are really having fun and have great chemistry, more than any team in recent memory

Careful

Some on the other board think our bench decorum is out of hand.................

They need to learn to win with dignity and class.
They need to act like they've been there before.
They need to do things the right way.....

I sense a heated thread forming. I hope I'm wrong, would be pretty sad if we can't even enjoy WINNING!

I agree, they need to act like they've been there before. But here's the problem, they have never been there before! They don't know how to act. This is all new territory for them....so I say let them enjoy the moment as much as they can!

They have plenty of time to be serious in their careers....

They don't need to act professional, because they are students, not professionals. It's what makes college sports great. If you recall, Bill Wennington on the Bulls had to be told to tone it down for waving a towel exuberantly from the bench. I love to see the camaraderie, the exuberant cheering, the back slapping and high fives. The line is drawn when it disrespects an opponent or a referee. The rest I am good with.

I like the body language and team chemistry on the team. You pay the game to win and have fun, so let them. Like a previous poster said, so long as it is not directed at an opponent, it's fine. This time is one of the few bright spots in an otherwise unremarkable stretch of basketball for St John's. Glad they are enjoying it.

I enjoyed watching them have fun, especially DLo. He has come a long way and he should be having fun. Give credit to the kid, he has really turned himself around. I am proud to have him wear our red and white (whoops blue and red) colors.

I agree, the chemistry seems really good with this group. You have to give coach some credit for that. He is the one that sets the overall tone, and it seems to me that he has figured some things out with this group.

So far, I am enjoying this season and I never thought it was going to start off this good. I hope they keep surprising me all season long! Hopefully this is a special season that we will remember for a long time.
