And if those three aren't, then what? You are trading two solid players for an older shortstop who is hitting under .250 with zero homeruns...and has a salary of $22million this year.....NO THANK YOU!!

If the Mets do make it into the playoffs, they will need pitching depth alot more than they will need the offense.

I never understood why more teams don't go to some form of a 6 man rotation. I don't know if it's necessarily a good idea to do it for an entire year, but it's definitely something to think about.

If I was the manager, I would do a 6 man rotation about every 2 weeks, but instead of having an 'official' 6th starter, I would have the bullpen pitch an entire game. Most teams have someone in their bullpen that can go for extended innings (4-5innings). Start them and then let the rest of the bullpen finish the rest of the game. This strategy will do 2 things. First, it will give the bullpen some more work (most bullpen pitchers only pitch like an inning a night anyways). Secondly, and more importantly, it will give the starting rotation an extra 2 days of rest per month, which may not seem like alot, but it could ultimately pay off as the season goes along.

Why do you want Reyes back so much? He makes a lot of money, and doesn't give the same production anymore. We are better off without him...
